Plasma Science and Technology Laboratory (PSTL)
School of Physics, Iran University of Science and Technology
The Plasma Science and Technology Laboratory (PSTL) is dedicated to advancing the understanding and technological application of low-temperature plasmas and ionized gases. Our research encompasses a wide range of gas pressures and plasma densities, with varying levels of ionization, enabling us to explore fundamental scientific principles governing plasma behavior, sources, and the physical and chemical processes they initiate or sustain.
Our multidisciplinary approach combines theoretical, computational, and experimental methodologies to deepen the scientific knowledge of plasma phenomena. PSTL is actively engaged in exploring innovative applications of plasmas, contributing to advancements in various technological fields.
Our current focus research areas include:
- Modelling and simulation of low-temperature and complex plasmas
- Design, construction, and characterization of plasma and ion sources
- Plasma and ion beam deposition of functional thin films and nanostructures
- Plasma and ion beam processing for microfabrication of photonic and electronic devices
These research activities aim to bridge fundamental plasma physics and practical technological innovations, fostering new solutions in material science, electronics, and photonics.
